Unfortunately, while Hollow starts with a strong premise, it quickly becomes uneven in pacing and execution.

To be clear, Celina is funny, talented, and a strong storyteller—but storytelling and writing execution aren’t always the same thing. The book quickly introduces too many characters and veers into a Twilight-style love triangle vibe with chaos layered on top.

I hate to sound so unprofesh, but this one is very much an “I dunno, man…”

There are interesting ideas here, but the execution doesn’t land. It settles at a 2⭐ read for me.

A very heavy read, but one that stays with you.

A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard isn’t meant to be polished or easy to digest—and honestly, that’s what makes it powerful. The way she writes, the repetition, the moments where she sounds so young… it all reflects exactly what was taken from her.

She was 11 when she was abducted. Eighteen years of her life were stolen. That kind of trauma doesn’t come out in clean, structured storytelling—it comes out in fragments, in loops, in honesty.

Some reviews criticize the writing, but that feels misplaced. This isn’t fiction. This is survival, in her own voice. Any issues with flow or repetition fall on editing—not on the person who lived through something unimaginable.

What stands out most is her resilience. Even in the heaviness, there’s hope. There’s proof that healing—messy, nonlinear, and ongoing—is possible.

This one isn’t easy, but it’s important.

Adding Ed and Lorraine Warren’s museum to Salem feels like honoring witch hunters at a witch trial memorial. Salem is a place shaped by the history of fear, hysteria, and persecution directed at people accused of witchcraft. The Warrens helped fuel modern satanic panic — a movement built on paranoia, false accusations, and the demonization of innocent people and alternative spiritual communities, much like the witch hunters of earlier centuries.

Honoring them in Salem feels less like preserving history and more like celebrating the very mindset that once destroyed lives there. Salem should honor the victims of hysteria — not people who helped create a modern version of it.
